About

I am here to educate and support you and your loved ones through the special journey of the end of life.

I'm Amy

I am a mom, wife, emergency department nurse, and certified death doula. I have been a nurse just shy of 10 years and have always felt a strong pull for those entering their final stage of life.

End of life can be such a beautiful and special moment in our lives, if we choose to better understand it.

Just about 5 years ago, my professional life intertwined with my personal life when my mother was actively dying from cancer. Not only was I playing the part of a grieving daughter, I was playing the role of her nurse because I was the only one that understood the death and dying process.

Too often, I see patients’ end of life wishes unintentionally disregarded because their loved ones panic, or just don’t know otherwise.

I have come to realize that when it comes to death and dying, there is a major lack of education. It’s a topic we don’t talk about nearly enough, let alone prepare for.

This is where I am going to help. I am going to be here for you and all your questions. I am going to advocate for your loved one to make sure their end of life wishes are fulfilled.

It is my purpose to educate loved ones about the death and dying process, and act as an advocate for every beautiful soul on their final journey.

The Story of The Dragonfly

Dragonflies are often seen as symbols of change and new beginnings, which can be reassuring to someone who is grieving. In addition, dragonflies are known for their short life spans, which can remind us that even though our loved ones are no longer with us, they will always be in our hearts.

Legend has it, that dragonflies were given an extra set of wings so that angels could ride on their back. When you see a dragonfly, it is an exquisite reminder that an angel from heaven is visiting you.

Since my mom passed away, I have always thought of her as a dragonfly. I see her often, especially in times of need.

I recently took a trip to Bali, with the intention of finding spiritual growth, personal growth, rebirth, and awakening. Everyday while in Bali, there were dragonflies around me; I knew my mom was near. It was during this time that A Graceful Goodbye was born.
